Opportunities as a Thespian include:
- Workshop participation (at APR and in the community)
- Sponsoring events, performances and activities for our community (productions, After Dark, and touring shows)
- Theatre field trips
- Bi-annual trips to Broadway and Hollywood on alternate trip years (every other year to one of the two locations) for our HS Thespians
- Fundraising to continue to build our Theatre program (all money raised goes toward equipment and trip needs)
- Membership in the International Thespian Society, which provides connections and networking with thousands of students and organizations around the world
- Graduating with the public recognition of your hundreds of hours of Theatre dedication, wearing your stars, cords, and honor sashes at graduation!
To be inducted in our APR Thespian Society Troupe, a student must demonstrate dedication to APR Theatre:
- Participate in at least two HS productions (in at least two different areas of Theatre: technical theatre, acting, directing/stage managing, writing).
- Participate in at least one full year of HS Thespian events (i.e. must be at least a sophomore with one year of production experience at APR).
- Achieve a minimum of ten Thespian points through work in productions and events at APR and/or within the community. 10 of these points may be earned while in the MS. You continue to earn Thespian points toward additional stars (every ten additional points), Honor Bar (60 points), and Thespian Scholar Honor Bars (60 points plus maintaining at 3.0 or higher GPA), National Honor Bar (90 points), International Honor Bar (120 points).
- Participate in at least one production each year.
- Attend all Thespian meetings (currently held once/week at lunchtime).
- Participate in all major fundraising events (Haunted House, After Dark, Cookie Dough sales, car washes, and hot plate & bake sales).
- Uphold APR character standards through respect, trust and support of his/her fellow Thespians.
